This issue explores the possibility of holding a Sustainable World Summit in 2012 and  three possible options to support such an event . The paper concludes, “The world may not choose any of our three options as the grand purpose for a 2012 World Sustainability Summit. 但无论为峰会选择什么目标，不仅要宏大，而且要真正有意义。 如果是这样的话，那么子孙后代将会记得那次事件，就像我们记得斯德哥尔摩和b里约热内卢一样。 If it is not, then another summit is not what the world needs right now.”

可持续发展见解 is a series of short policy essays supporting the  可持续发展知识伙伴关系 (SDKP) and edited by Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee Center for the study of the Longer-Range Future. 该系列旨在促进就如何在所有各级加速可持续发展进行广泛的跨学科对话。
